Christmas Market’s events

Over the years, the Christmas Market’s atmospheric stage has presented hundreds of great shows. Some of the nation’s best-known entertainers and local talents have created great memories and a genuine Christmas atmosphere on the stage and in the alleys of the Christmas Market.

  • 23-24 November: Pre-Christmas Market opening, Glogg Restaurant, Doughnut Cafe, and some vendors cottages are open. The Christmas Market is open from 11 am to 7 pm, and the Glogg Restaurant is open from 11 am to 8 pm.

    25-26 November: All the Christmas market cottages  are closed except for the Bubble Waffles which is open both days from 11 am to 7 pm and Vallilan Lörtsy Which is open on November 26thr from 11 am to 7 pm (The Glogg Restaurant and Doughnut Cafe will be closed).

    27 November: The Glogg Restaurant open from 11 am to 8 pm, Bubble Waffles, Kauppahallin Kotiruoka and Mielen ry Työpajat from 11 am to 7 pm, Doughnut Cafe is closed. The elves will be roaming around the Christmas Market at 5 pm.

    28 November: Glogg Restaurant open from 11 am to 8 pm, Doughnut Cafe, Bubble Waffles, Kauppahallin Kotiruoka, Mielen ry Työpajat, Wästikivi, Arjen Ilot, and Chemnitz from 11 am to 7 pm.

    29 November: Glogg Restaurant open from 11 am to 8 pm, Doughnut Cafe, Bubble Waffles, Kauppahallin Kotiruoka, Mielen ry Työpajat, Vallilan Lörtsy, Wästikivi, Arjen Ilot, Chemnitz, Käsinetori, Hunaja Hetki, Savupiippuherkut and Lelusetä from 11 am to 7 pm.

    30 November: The Christmas market is open from 11 am to 7 pm. Opening Ceremony 5 pm. The Glogg Restaurant closes at 8 pm.

    1 December: Tampereen laulajat ( The Singers of Tampere) 6 pm.

  • 11 am The gates of the Christmas Market open, and all vendors will open their cottages.

    5 pm Christmas Market opening ceremony: The Deputy Mayor Jouni Markkanen, Santa Claus and the Hatanpää upper secondary school elves, the vocal ensemble Kuutar, Lauri Mikkola and Mikael Konttinen, with the event hosted by Kreetta Ahonen.

    7 pm The Christmas Market cottages close, including Doughnut Cafe.

    8 pm The Glogg Restaurant closes.

  • 2 December: The Singing Elves will perform on the stage at 5:00 pm, and the elves will also be roaming the Christmas Market.

    4 December: The elves will be roaming around the Christmas Market at 6:00 pm.

    5 December: Hille ja Saalas 6 pm.

  • 9 December: The Tampere High Schools’ Grand Choir at 6:00 pm, and the elves will be roaming the Christmas Market.

    11 December: The Singing Elves will perform on the stage at 5:00 pm, and the elves will also be roaming the Christmas Market.

    13 December: Lucia procession 4 pm, Picantus choir 5 pm and 5.45 pm

    15 December:  Christmas Market’s Children’s Day 11 am – 2 pm.

  • 17 December:  The elves will be roaming around the Christmas Market at 5:00 pm.

    18 December:  The Singing Elves will perform on the stage at 5:30 pm, and the elves will also be roaming the Christmas Market.

    19 December: AcaBella 6 pm.

    21 December: Rasta-S 6 pm.
