The opening of the Christmas Market will be celebrated on Saturday, November 29th.

The official opening of the Christmas Market will take place on Saturday, 29 November. All market cottages will open their shutters at 11:00, and the festive opening ceremony will begin at 17:00 on the Christmas Market stage. This year’s programme features the dazzling vocal ensemble CALLA, Mayor Ilmari Nurminen, and of course the much-anticipated guest – Santa Claus with his elves. The evening will be hosted by the wonderful Salla Paajanen.

Mayor Ilmari Nurminen will officially open the celebration, after which Santa Claus and his entourage will make their entrance. The evening’s headliner, the enchanting vocal group CALLA, will create a warm and festive atmosphere.

From opening day onwards, the Christmas Market cottages will welcome visitors daily until 22 December. The Glogg Restaurant will also be open on 23–24 December.

• Glogg Restaurant: 29 Nov–23 Dec 11 am to 8 pm, and 24 Dec 11 am to 3 pm.

This year, more than 70 vendors specializing in handicrafts and food products will once again take part in the market. Visitors can discover a wide selection of delightful gift ideas and seasonal treats. The Christmas Market is filled with the aromas of the season, delicious flavours, and the vendors’ beautiful handmade creations.

The market’s own Doughnut Café and Restaurant will also be serving visitors throughout the season, offering tasty bites and a wonderfully warm Christmas ambiance. In December, the Christmas Market stage will host a variety of festive performances, bringing joy and memorable moments to visitors of all ages.
