Tampere Christmas Market returns – festive spirit from 22 November to Christmas Eve

The Christmas Market pre-week will be held from 22–28 November, when some of the stalls and market restaurants will be partially open. The week will culminate in the Christmas Market opening party on Saturday 29 November when all stalls will be open. The opening ceremony will start at 5 pm, and the stage will feature the vocal ensemble CALLA, Santa Claus and his elves, and Mayor Ilmari Nurminen. The evening will be hosted by Salla Paajanen.

The entire market will be open daily from 29 November to 22 December from 11 am to 7 pm, and the Glogg restaurant from 11 am to 8 pm. This year, you can also enjoy the Christmas atmosphere at the Glogg restaurant on 23 December from 11 pm to 8 pm and on Christmas Eve 24 December from 11 am to 3 pm. Christmas treats, handicrafts, and festive program

As usual, the Christmas Market will be selling authentic Finnish handicrafts, unique Christmas gifts, and Christmas delicacies. More than a ten new vendors will be joining the market, bringing art, prezels, textiles, and a porridge bar, among other things. You can also get into the Christmas spirit at the traditional Pyynikki Doughnut café and Glogg restaurant with seasonal delicacies and hot and cold drinks.

The performances on the market square stage entertain visitors of all ages. The stage features live music, choir singing, and Christmas-themed performances. You can even meet Santa Claus himself there. The program is updated on the Christmas Market website.

Christmas opening in Tampere city center on 22 November

Tampere’s Christmas Opening will be celebrated in Central Square on Saturday, 22 November. The event will begin at 4 pm with a Christmas parade, which will start in front of the Main Library Metso. The parade will pass through Hämeenpuisto boulevard towards Kauppakatu Street and finally arrive at the Central Square. The festivities will continue at Central square with choir singing and a greeting from Santa Claus. At the end of the event, the festive lights on the Christmas tree in Central square will be lit.
